Nūl is a Sri Lankan-based collective working towards building connected and sustainable communities.

OUR PURPOSE & approach

Nūl is a place where people and ideas come together threaded by the human condition and shared values to create new and enduring possibilities. It’s a place-based community building project.

We acknowledge historical inequalities and aim to tackle the root causes. Born out of close community collaboration, our approach blends strategy with practical action, with each initiative designed to foster continuous growth and long-term transformation.

Every initiative is designed to foster continuous growth and long-term transformation—creating systems of change that are locally led, culturally grounded, and deeply human.

Nūl Peace Ride: Building Community & Social Change in Sri Lanka

30 JUNE TO 22 JULY 2025

The Nūl Peace Ride 2025 is a 22-day, 1,000km cycling journey across Sri Lanka, taking place from 30 June to 22 July. This unique initiative blends 12 days of endurance cycling with 10 days of immersive community engagement, creating a powerful intersection of action, dialogue, and solidarity.

Led by a diverse team of cyclists and community workers, the ride is not just a test of physical resilience—it is a movement to raise AUD $150,000 to support the Nūl Pilot Project: a community-led initiative to develop a 50-acre site into a sustainable, culturally vibrant community hub in Sri Lanka.

Throughout the journey, the team will engage with Tamil, Sinhala, Malayaga Tamil, Muslim, Christian, Vedda, and other communities—participating in shared learning, cultural exchange, and discussions centred on justice, reconciliation, and empowerment.

Every kilometre fuels a larger vision: to build inclusive, locally driven systems of change rooted in education, economic opportunity, and equity. Your support brings this vision to life—helping to create a Together Sri Lanka grounded in unity, respect, and shared futures.

The Peace Ride has been completed successfully twice before, though on a smaller scale. We are now working to establish it as an annual initiative.
